It can help make our current reality one we can escape just a little bit easier, if only for a little bit.

When the COVID-19 Pandemic first started to emerge, the one thing our couples wanted The Blushing Details to do was to brainstorm on some fun and safe things to do to entertain their guests. Let’s be real for a moment though! Conversing solely with family members in your circle can get pretty dull after a while and huddling on the dancefloor amongst the people that you live with in your household isn’t quite as fun all the time given the Stay-At-Home Orders we're all currently facing. 6ft Physical distance dancing can be quite hard if you are the type, like us, that often swings your arms from side to side, dancing purposefully on the dance floor, shaking your booty, and are used to being within close proximity of your friends.

As you may or may not know, our attention span usually runs out after about 10 min or so. That said, The Blushing Details does have a few ideas to create a high energy and entertaining atmosphere for your guests to make sure they're fully engaged! We've put together some fun and exciting ways to keep your guests entertained during the reception hours. They're designed to keep guests entertained before, during, and after dinner and we think they'll make your event all the more memorable.

At The Blushing Details, we believe that every one of our couples wants to create a memorable wedding that encapsulates their personality. Our strong qualities are to guide them to create a fun-filled, stress-free environment, flawless creativity, and execute with focused attention to details. We are passionate about our work and commitment to deliver an event that surpasses our couple's expectations.

Reception Entertainment

How to physically distance and still entertain your guests during Reception?

Part 1

Physical distancing protocols must be in place for all performers and entertainers with careful planning put together by your Event Planner and Event Professional(s). A vendor team must create a layout so that the guests are at least 6ft away from the stage. Another idea is to turn your floorplan into a center stage which is bigger and wider so that it allows equal physical distancing with the performers, entertainers, and the guests. This offers a circular vantage point so guests can view the stage in 360 degrees. It's important to always check with vendors and entertainment companies to verify that they’re following all guidelines and protocols for the overall city compliance.

Table Layout

Grouping family members living in the same household at the 72” round table while couples can be seated in a 30” cocktail table facing the stage.  Friends and Family that are not in the same household may sit together on a 72” round tables 6ft apart with bird's eye view of the stage. (Please note: The Blushing Details will compliance to any protocol and update once the city Guideline has been release)

Trivia game

The Blushing Details did a wedding last year where a bride graduated from an ivy league college. The one special thing the bride did with her friends was to play trivia games in between their finals to help lighten up their stress load. The bride decided to incorporate this fun game by hiring a friend to host a professional trivia game. In between each course, the host would ask a trivia question. Each table would work as a team to come up with the answers. It was fun, exciting, as well as being very competitive amongst the guests. The Trivia Questions can be about the couple or customized in a fashion that relates to the wedding. It was fun, exhilarating, and kept the guests guessing throughout the night. At the end of the night, the winner would win a special prize from the couple. Resource Host for Trivia Game Trivworks or DIY Trivia  Wedding Idea Magazine Party Current

Mini Concert

The Blushing Details have always wanted to create a mini concert with just the band, singer, and dancers. Entertain your guests through the night with some of your favorite music from 20’s Jazz, 50’s Swing, Disco, 80’s Rock N Roll, 90’s Hip hop, Motown, and Country all the way to classic music with a modern twist with a string quartet. Your guests can just sway side to side and dance at their table. Bands to Consider: Business Time Entertainment, LA All Stars, Entire Productions , Encore , West Coast Band

Magician

Hiring a magician for your special day is great live wedding entertainment and can help fill times between courses. A mixture of tricks, illusions, mind-reading, comedy and a high level of showmanship will keep your guests entertained throughout the night. Resource Gig Salad, and The Bash to narrow down your choices.

Mini Musical play

We thought this was a very cute idea when one of our own couples had their actors and actress friends perform a mini musical play of Hamilton. It was one of the most memorable weddings I have ever done. If you don’t have friends with acting abilities like that couple, you could always incorporate your wedding theme to a mini musical play. You can also hire an actual company with professional actors and actresses to create a fun and intentional musical play. Resources Characters for Hire

Love Story Montage

Another great way to entertain your guests. The Blushing Details have always advised our clients to hire a professional videographer to create a beautiful love story. Your love story can be about the moment you first met as well as the various adventures you've had together up to the day they “popped” the question. Short film

The Blushing Details had another couple that created a short film of all the beautiful places & adventures that they've traveled to. They created a story and meaning behind each place that they have visited. They hired a film editor to stitch all the videos together and added some great video effects and music with an end result that looked like a professional short film.

Variety Show with a MC as a Host

Why not create a Variety Show with different Acts from all of the above entertainment – Musician, Comedian, Circus Performers, Dancer, Magician? Give your guest the best of everything so they have a night to remember.

All these performers and entertainment options can intertwine through out the evening too. You can hire a professional videographer, video editor, and sound tech to live stream all these performers for your friends and/or family that weren’t able to make it to your wedding. Your guests can watch it in the comfort of their home so they can feel that they are a part of your special day.  Beside the food, your guests will remember the entertainment at your wedding event.
